Outstanding Senior 2026
We are honored to celebrate resident Barbara Sandbrook, who is recognized as a Northampton County Outstanding Senior 2026. Barbara’s life is a remarkable testament to compassion, service, and unwavering dedication to others.
Despite being legally blind and facing additional health challenges, Barbara continues to pour her energy into the community – offering advice, assistance, support, and encouragement through her active involvement in numerous volunteer efforts. Her resilience and generosity are nothing short of inspiring.
A registered nurse by profession, Barbara has been the driving force behind the Retirement Nurses Group at Morningstar Living, serving as its lead organizer and creating a space where retired nurses can stay connected, purposeful, and engaged.
Her commitment to lifelong learning shines through her more than 30 years of devoted support for the Memorial Library of Nazareth & Vicinity. A firm believer in the power of education, Barbara sponsors the library’s Books‑on‑Tape program, expanding access for individuals with visual impairments and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy literature.
Barbara is a dedicated member of St John’s Lutheran Church in Nazareth, participating in food drives and sending care packages to troops serving overseas.
Barbara was one of 11 individuals honored at a ceremony on April 23rd. The event, hosted by the Area Agency on Aging during National Volunteer Month, honors residents aged 60+ for community service, leadership and volunteerism.
Barbara’s life is a beautiful example of what it means to serve with heart. We are grateful for her leadership, her kindness, and the countless ways she continues to uplift those around her.
Please join us in celebrating this extraordinary woman. Congratulations Barbara!
